Verreaux’s Eagle is a cosy self-catering eco-cabin, perched on the side of the mountain, with sweeping views down the valley. This cabin features private swimming in a reservoir fed by mountain spring water and a secret bathtub under the stars.

THE CABIN 

A stylish, off-grid eco cabin that has been designed to provide all the comforts and modern luxuries, while protecting our beloved natural heritage.

SLEEPING

Bedroom: | Double Bed 

A sleeper couch is available for an extra child or adult.

Fresh linen and towels are provided.

LIVING 

An off-the-grid stay with all the necessary comforts. The kitchen is equipped with a two plate gas hob, a small fridge, pots, pans, a kettle and cutlery and crockery for four people. There is also a plunger available to make coffee. The outdoor wooden deck features a hot tub and a comfortable set of outdoor furniture.

Nestled in a picturesque valley between Citrusdal and Clanwilliam, Verreaux's Eagle Cabin at Leopard Valley Eco-Retreat is proud to offer you an off-the-grid escape from the busy life, and an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with yourself. Here, majestic, sweeping vistas stretch across the valley to the Sneeuberg mountains, and crystal-clear springs feed the pond, dam and natural swimming pool, offering many options to cool off in the Summer heat.

Eco-friendly shampoo and soap is provided. 

Filtered Water is provided. 

Salt, pepper, ground coffee, brown sugar, Ceylon tea, rooibos tea and foil are provided for in the kitchen.

For the braai, a potjie pot, braai grid and braai utensils are available.

A bag of complimentary firewood is provided, any additional can be purchased at R50 per bag.

Although this cabin is remote and private, the manager lives just around the corner, should you require any assistance.

Pet Policy: One small to medium dog per adult is allowed. To protect both the dogs, and the flora & fauna, dogs should be within close range of their owners. Dogs should not be allowed to roam freely on the property. Dog beds must be brought by the guests, and the dogs should not be on the couches or beds. An incremental cleaning charge will be made if extra cleaning is required.

The cabin provides a comfortable base for days spent hiking, swimming, bird watching and exploring the magnificent rock formations – some of them featuring ancient Khoisan rock paintings. Or simply relax on the deck and take in the mountain views, rejuvenating your body and soul.

Nights are for stargazing and storytelling around a crackling fire, listening to the sounds of Nature. You may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of the nocturnal animals like Cape Leopard, Aardvark, African wildcat, Bat-eared fox, Cape fox or porcupine
