Ukuthula House

Set on the banks of the Crocodile River in the 'big five' Mjejane Private Game Reserve, Kruger National Park, Ukuthula House is a brand new luxury self-catering lodge. An ideal private family safari getaway, it is surrounded by a 4000ha reserve with over 10km of riverfront to enjoy.

Approximately 4 1/2 hours' drive from Gauteng and a mere 45 minutes from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, the reserve is a stone's throw from six well-known golf courses, including Leopard Creek.

THE LODGE

With 6 en-suite bedrooms, family suites, children’s bunk room, nanny’s room, three dining areas, kitchen, prep kitchen, entertainment area, pool, boma, yoga deck, gym, exclusive 4×4 with a ranger (game drives at additional cost) and conference centre facilities, you can enjoy this private 5-star lodge to your heart’s content.

SLEEPING

6 luxurious, beautifully decorated suites with king beds, all with wonderful views of the Kruger National Park. Two of the suites are family suites. All suites have an option of both indoor and outdoor showers/baths. In addition to the 6 suites there is also an en suite kids’ bunk room, a magical space for kids to enjoy with a lounge and play area, with an en suite nanny’s room. Although the house can sleep more, the owners are bound by reserve rules and are only able to accommodate 13 pax.

LIVING

Walk through the reception library into a Moroccan-inspired courtyard. Through the kitchen and lounge ahead you will see the breath-taking river view, the Kruger at your very doorstep.

Laze in your luxury suites, take a dip in the pool while watching elephants play, spot a leopard from the deck over a pizza and G&T, or listen to hyenas cackle around the boma fire.

THE AREA

Guests have 4000 hectors of concession to explore within Mjejane.

There is also the unique opportunity to use a direct access bridge which links Mjejane to the Kruger National Park road network.

As part of the Ukuthula House experience we want guests to explore the Kruger Park in all its’ game viewing glory and as such an in-house game ranger and open top game vehicle is available for guests.

The house ranger, Lebeko Malatji is well respected with great knowledge of Mjejane and the nature that surrounds.

From the big 5 to birds, trees and the stories and traditions of the bush, you will leave having experienced the best the Kruger has to offer. When spending time at the house you will quickly learn that you always need to have your binoculars and camera nearby. Watch the elephants have a mud bath and rhinos graze in front of the house. Spot a leopard coming down to drink or a hyena try it’s luck with an impala, all from the comfort of your own lodge.

Deposit Terms

At the time of booking 50% deposit of the full accommodation is required with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.

Credit card to be supplied for breakage deposit. 

Cancellation Terms

8 weeks before arrival: 50%
3 weeks before arrival: 75%
Less than 2 weeks: 100%

House Rules

No Smoking in the house/bedrooms
No loud music/ excessive noise (subject to fines from Mjejane Reserve)
Cars are only allowed to drive on the main road in and out of the reserve; other roads are exclusively for game vehicles with ranger
Speeding will lead to fines, the limit is 40km/h
No feeding of animals
Home and pool is to be used at own risk; the owners of Ukuthula House are not liable for any personal injury/damage to property onsite.
