THE VILLA

The villa is situated on a 1.1 hectare Pecan, Fig, Olive & Fruit Farm right in the heart of Montagu, with easy and safe walking distance to the centre of town and all it has to offer.

Each Bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, walk in shower, bath with two hand basins. Both inside bathrooms open onto a private intimate courtyard for an outdoor shower experience with views of the surrounding mountains. 

LIVING 

You can look forward to a large open plan living room and kitchen, with high ceilings and fold away doors opening to courtyard and front veranda. Outside you will find a six seater dinning table with a couch, armchairs & coffee table to relax and enjoy the incredible mountain views. Next to the 6m X 3m salt water pool you will find loungers, a fire pit and a pizza oven for the ultimate outdoor entertainment setting. 

Step inside to find an eight seater dinning table with a fully equipped kitchen including a SMEG gas hob / electric oven, SMEG microwave, air fryer, full size fridge, toaster & kettle, Nespresso coffee machine. The scullery has a dishwasher and washing machine. 

A TV with Netflix (if required) is available for your viewing enjoyment. 

THE AREA

Noted as the halfway stop between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn on the popular Route 62, which is regarded as South Africa’s version of America’s renowned Route 66. Breathtaking scenery, the Langeberg region boasts some of the country’s finest wines and is known for having the longest wine route in the world. Known as the "mountain mecca" of the Cape, Montagu lies surrounded by the Langeberg mountain range nestled between the Keisie and Kingna Rivers in the western corner of Kannaland, and is famous for her orchards, vineyards, local herbs, rock formations and healing hot mineral springs.

Montagu is one of the best examples of a late Victorian agricultural village in the Western Cape with a number of examples of preserved Cape Dutch and Georgian National Monuments - Long Street houses 14 of the town’s 22 National Monuments and Joubert House epitomizes late 19th century living. Spending time in Montagu is sure to relax and recharge your batteries or, if you are that way inclined, there is a list of activities to get the adrenaline flowing, like mountain biking, kloofing, abseiling, paragliding, fishing and river boat trips up the Breede River. Some excellent restaurants are walking distance from us. Montagu are surrounded by excellent wine farms and interesting small villages for interesting day trips.

GOOD TO KNOW 

Basic pantry items are provided - milk, butter, sugar, fresh bread, coffee, salt, pepper & spices.

Honesty Bar stocked with local and regional wines, spirits and beers.

An inverter powers the TV, WiFi and two lamps inside during loadshedding. Solar and battery powered lights are also available for nighttime.

Firewood and Fire Lighters are also provided. If you're arriving late and with little notice, your hosts will gladly light the fire for you to ensure you're ready to relax the moment you arrive.

Regrettably not suitable for children under 8 years old due to the pool not being fenced & a 4 meter drop on the one side of the stoep.
