Kingfisher is a small thatched cottage that sleeps two adults. There is a queen room on the lower level, with an open plan kitchen and lounge with TV and an indoor fireplace.The verandah has a moveable braai and lovely views of the farm.

LIVING

This cottage has a small open-plan kitchen and living area with a fireplace, relax on the three seater couch, watch some tv or read a book. DSTV with selected channels is provided.

Sit on your veranda and watch the sunset behind the mountains or watch the birdlife while sipping on your preferred beverage.

THE AREA

Kingfisher Cottage is located on Penwarn Farm which is at the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg. This stunning farm cottage escape is rustic yet modern, Penwarn Farm Lodge can be found just 25km from the quaint, little town of Underberg in South Africa. As you drive down the Khyber Pass, you’ll be greeted with the all the beauty that Penwarn has to offer.

Sharing the grasslands are zebra, hartebeest and blesbok. Birdlife is of abundance and the cranes and wild geese can be spotted from the comfort of your room. Penwarn truly is an animal enthusiast’s paradise! Jump on a kayak or hike to the waterfall, picnic or swim in the crisp waters of the natural rook pool.

GOOD TO KNOW

Children aged between 0 and 4 stay free. Children aged between 5 and 12 pay R480.00.

Wood, ice and water is available for purchase at reception.

There is NO restaurant or shop on the property, so don't forget your groceries. 

High clearance cars are advisable but if you driving a low car please drive very slowly and arrive in the daylight. Arriving in the dark is not advisable.The road from Howick to Underberg has potholes please drive safely.

50% of payment taken on booking.

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.

If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.

If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.

If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
