THE LODGE

The lodge was designed to be in harmony with its beautiful surrounds, blending into the landscape from afar and combining natural textures, wood and stone elements in a clean and strong modern design. Feel as though you are one with nature in this truly idyllic and elevated setting. 

The high ceilings and large windows flood interiors with light and accentuate the sweeping views across the rolling hills, the Knysna tidal estuary (lagoon) to the ancient Outeniqua mountains, the whale sanctuary and spectacular beaches that stretch from Brenton to Buffalo Bay and the endless horizon beyond.

THE AREA

The beautiful Garden Route town of Knysna is flanked by the iconic heads that guard the entrance of the ocean to the peaceful estuary waters. The Eastern Head is well-known and visited by many tourists who come to soak up the views and enjoy a drink or a meal at the popular waterside East Head Cafe. However, the Western Head remains relatively untouched, home to the expansive Featherbed Nature Reserve and other wonderful discoveries.

Alkira Lodge has indoor and outdoor dining options, indoor and outdoor lounge spaces and spacious tanning decks. The infinity pool and hot tub jacuzzi provide options to relax, unwind and enjoy the sounds of silence and warm sunshine surrounded by nature’s beauty.

As the evening descends, fireplaces and subtle lighting create a warm, romantic atmosphere to enjoy the stupendous fireworks as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

Cancellation Policy

50% Payment is due to confirm bookings. Balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. Bookings cancelled prior to 30 days before arrival refunded in full. Bookings cancelled within 30 days of travel liable for full cost of the accommodation.
