The epitome of barefoot luxury, the Valley Pod is ideal for romantic breakaways and honeymoons. Accommodating up to 2 adults and 1 small child (under 12 years, with prior arrangement), every corner of this luxury pod is created to maximise the wild surrounds that have inspired it.

An immaculately styled and spacious pod. The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, fridge, freezer, gas stove, oven and pizza oven.

The living space consisting of a two sided indoor fireplace, comfy couch, dining room table and chairs flows gracefully onto a massive wooden deck with outdoor furniture, a wood fired hot tub, a braai and a 14m hammock.

The bathroom boasts a freestanding bath and shower with incredible views into the valley below.

Perfect for exploring this diverse countryside, rates for the Valley Pod include one complimentary game drive for stays of 2 nights or longer, additional game drives can be booked by prior arrangement. Led by an experienced guide, these drives are an opportunity to spot wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, sable, bontebok and wildebeest.

THE AREA

Melozhori Private Game Reserve lies in the picturesque Cape Fold Mountains, adjacent to the tiny hamlet of Stormsvlei, in the verdant Overberg district of the Western Cape. It is located less than 200km from Cape Town and conveniently halfway to the world-famous Garden Route. Surrounded by undulating hills and mountains, with no other signs of civilization, it feels as though you’re in the deepest “bush” of Africa. The hilly and mountainous topography offers guests incredible vantage points of the 2,300 hectare reserve.

The flora consists mostly of Succulent Karoo, rare and endangered Renosterveld and sections of biodiverse Fynbos in the mountainous areas. Just a few of the mammals that can be found in the reserve include zebra, giraffe, eland, kudu, red hartebeest, bontebok, sable antelope, waterbuck, bushbuck, black-backed jackal and the bat-eared fox. Special bird species include the blue crane, black harrier and cape vulture.

Melozhori Game Reserve is home to over 38 species game. There are however no predators, making it safe for you to explore your surroundings on foot or by bike.

Melozhori is on the Robertson Wine Valley route. Various excellent wine cellars on our doorstep Cape Aghulhas (Southernmost tip of Africa) is approximately 80 km Struisbaai is approximately 70 km Hermanus is approximately 110 km.
