This stone cottage is the perfect romantic hideaway, nestled in among tall meadow grass overlooking a picturesque dam. Ideal for a couple or a couple with children. You wake up and look out on sunlit trees reflected in the still water and watch the water birds come and go.

THE COTTAGE

A quaint cottage, gently covered in beautiful green creepers. Meadow Cottage overlooks a dam that can be taken in from the warmth and privacy of the magnificent feature bay window.

Bedroom: | Queen Bed + Sleeper Couch (Open Plan Room) & En-suite with bath & shower

LIVING 

Wake up to morning reflections on the dam, with only the gentle sounds of the birds chirping. Meadow Cottage has an open plan bedroom with a small lounge nook and an indoor fireplace. The separate kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, oven and microwave for cooking. 

Enjoy your own private jetty on the dam, with a picnic table and enough nature to refuel your soul.

THE AREA

In the heart of the Magoebaskloof, loved for its mountains and forests, waterfalls and streams, Meadow Cottage sits on six hectares of wild and formal gardens featuring two dams that reflect the seasonal colours.

Meander through the breathtaking Cherry Blossoms, Azaleas and a score of specialist blooms that will delight your senses during Spring and Summer by making use of the marked walking routes. Over 100 tree names have been put up so that visitors can identify the vast collection of indigenous and non-indigenous tree species that transform from lush hues of green to vibrant titian colours of Autumn splendor.

Have a rest at the Lily pond and watch the fish frolic and then head up to the farm's beautiful Labyrinth where you are encouraged to keep the silence and walk in peace with your inner soul. You will leave Sequoia with a spring in your step, hear your heart beating to nature's rhythm, and your mind filled with beauty and tranquility.

Garden Walks - The gardens indicate marked walking routes where you can explore the tranquility that the gardens have to offer. You may want to bring your binoculars for some exquisite bird watching.

Picnics - Sequoia is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic for a wonderful day out with family and friends.
Note: picnic baskets are not provided, but you can order from the local restaurants in the area or bring your own.

Fishing - Strictly catch-and-release bass and trout fishing at either of the two dams is available. Please use de-barbed hooks to ensure that the fish are not harmed.

Mountain Bike Trails - The mountain offers various mountain biking routes for all types of riders that runs through the gardens. Click HERE for more info and routes.

BOOKING TERMS

In the event of cancellation of the confirmed reservation, prior to the agreed date of arrival, we reserve the right to retain a portion of the deposit as stipulated below:                                     

• Up to 30 days, 50% of the deposit
• Less than 14 days, 75% of the deposit
• Less than 7 days, 100% of the deposit
• Deposits are not refundable in the event of non arrival
• We do in fact charge 10% of the full invoiced amount for cancellations 31 days or more.

Cancellations must be notified to us in writing. We recommend that the Guest insures against cancellation.
