THE AREA

Bokriver is bounded on the south by the Riviersonderend River and climbs, at first gently, through 300 hectare of virgin Renosterveld, and then steeply, to lofty mountain-fynbos covered peaks.

The quaint and beautiful village of Greyton is a mere 20 minutes drive away. Buy your produce from here - the most affordable, best quality meat, freshly grown veg, freshly baked bread and anything else you may need!

The town of Riviersonderend, 10 minutes away, marks the ‘start’ of the Garden Route and even though it isn’t officially on the route, it caters well for travellers who bustle back-and-forth on the freeway which passes through the town with numerous rest stops and fueling points.

GOOD TO KNOW

We regret no children under the age of 2.

Bokriver's landscapes can be explored on foot, both gently and strenuously, swimming in both rivers or dams, from horseback, and for the diehards on mountain bikes. More indulgent pursuits fishing, birding, botaneering or simply mountain gazing.

Be sure to book a private picnic experience.

Some wood is provided (+- 100 pieces); if you need more, wood can be bought or bring your own. Remember to pack enough firelighters.

The Riviersonderend Mountain Range is awe inspiring. This farm wonderland is extremely peaceful, with only the infrequent sounds of Sussex cattle mooing in the surrounding fields.

Temperatures drop significantly in winter with snow capped mountain tops visible from the cosy indoor wood burning fireplace. In summer, dam and river swims are possible with plenty of suitable spots for a picnic.

The WiFi speeds are excellent making this a great place to set up your remote office.

The cottage sleeps four but we recommend use for two people only.
