This gorgeous cabin is situated on the edge of a lake in the heart of the Banhoek Valley. It is a light filled modern cabin, perfect for all seasons with air-conditioning in the bedroom and a fireplace. It sleeps two and has a queen-size sleeping pod for kids.

THE CABIN

Surrounded by landscaped orchards and wild fynbos, Avocado Cottage is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. The cabin is named after the Avocado Trees grown on Camissa Farm.

The beds are extremely comfortable - made up with the highest quality Egyptian cotton and cuddly throws from Mungo so you have nothing to fear from the Cape of Storms.

LIVING

The cabin is equipped with an indoor fireplace to keep you cosy while you snuggle up with a book on the sofa. For warmer days, plant yourself on the deck and take in the incredible view. Floor to ceiling glass means that you feel part of the surroundings, never losing touch with nature. The kitchen is well equipped with quality crockery, cutlery and appliances to cook a hearty meal. 

THE AREA

This Cabin is situated on Camissa Farm, which means “place of sweet water” in Khoi, it is located in the Banhoek valley between Stellies and Franschhoek. The cabin is high in the mountains, up in the clouds with a stunning view into the valley itself and across the valley floor to the Simonsberg. Despite feeling as if you are far from anywhere, the farm is actually only eight minutes from Stellies. At Camissa, the owners farm, on a small scale. You may notice that our orchards are mixed, olives, almonds, lemons, rosemary, garlic, rose-geranium, avos, walnuts, macadamia, and asparagus live happily together. This is to promote diversity and confuse the pests thereby reducing the pesticides needed. 

GOOD TO KNOW 

Ride: There are some stunning trails on the farm. Bike rentals/ guides can be recommended on arrival or in advance of your trip.

Reconnect with Nature: Enjoy a walk in one of the most beautiful valleys in South Africa. Float in one of the pristine dams and fill your water bottles from a crystal clear stream.

Read a Good Book: Catch up on the latest great reads while swinging in a hanging chair or borrow a cookbook from the enormous collection and enjoy a gourmet weekend with your loved ones.

If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.

If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.
